About Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation:
It was then established by the Agricultural Development Corporation Ordinance, 1961 (E.P. Order XXXVII, 1961), as the East Pakistan Agricultural Development Corporation. In 1975, BADC was renamed as Bangladesh Agricultural Equipment Supply and Services Corporation (BASIC), since it was considered different from the other development organizations of the government’s agricultural sector. But in 1976 the name of the BASIC was re-charged and the name of the BADC was reinstated. Although BADC is based in Dhaka city as an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Agriculture, the scope of its service extends across the whole of Bangladesh. Field offices are upstream to the Upazila level, and in some cases, there is a vast network of offices in remote areas.
